ambient classical music

a new form of music that uses some of the structure and emotion of classical music while being relaxing and unobtrusive.

it is partly inspired by the work of Erik Satie who believed that music should be composed for the background so the listener could focus on whatever it was that they are doing.

it is also partly inspired by movie scores, another type of pseudo-classical music.

some popular composers that produce works most closely resembling ambient classical are: Enya, Dead Can Dance, The Cocteau Twins, Enigma, and of course Erik Satie.

some are more new age than classical or ambient, and Eric Satie is almost purely classical.

the recordings on this site will give you a good idea about the style. And if you like classical, or ambient music, you will probably enjoy my work.
